Woman, teen killed Sunday in separate shootings in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A 25-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man have been shot to death in separate incidents in Mississippi’s capital city.

Officers were called to a parking lot around 5 a.m. Sunday where a woman was lying next to a car.

Jackson Police Sgt. Roderick Holmes told news outlets said the woman had been shot and died at the scene. She’s identified as Brittany Green. Holmes says store surveillance shows her vehicle next to a minivan before the shooting. Investigators are trying to determine what led to the shooting,

About the same time, officers were called to investigate a robbery of two 18-year-old men. One of them, Deandre Moon, was shot and was taken to a hospital where he died.

The other teen was not hurt. Police are looking for two suspects.
