Mississippi’s health officer, Dr. Dobbs, to be featured during chamber’s online luncheon

For many, the first they saw of Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the state’s health officer, was during a press conference in early March.

It was the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Mississippi and the biggest challenge Dobbs, an epidemiologist and infection disease physician, had faced.

Since that first press conference, Dobbs has been at Gov. Tate Reeves’ side during almost daily press conferences, giving updates on the state’s response to slow the virus.

Thursday, Dobbs will be the guest speaker during the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce’s online luncheon. It will be a chance for chamber members and residents to hear first-hand from the man leading the state’s fight against the virus.

Those wanting to participate in the Zoom event must register in advance by going to https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEqde-rqDsrGty4qhxZ2Td8DaE5WUHHoP5j.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing details about joining the meeting.  You will also receive a link to join the luncheon via Zoom.

For information on the event, call the Vicksburg-Warren Chamber of Commerce at 601-636-1012 or email lvinson@vicksburgchamber.org.
