Casino Vicksburg opens new sportsbook

Casino Vicksburg, formerly Lady Luck Casino, has opened its new sportsbook just in time for the start of the college football and NFL season.

The sportsbook will have kiosk betting available 24 hours a day, at several locations throughout the casino, and live ticket writers on weekends. The live ticket writers will be available on Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight; and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The automated kiosks can be accessed at any time inside the Casino Vicksburg Sportsbook or on the casino floor.

To help accommodate sports bettors, the casino will offer dedicated parking for sportsbook guests, although there is a 15-minute limit for those spaces.

The new sportsbook is part of a larger renovation under way at Casino Vicksburg, which is under the new ownership of Twin River Worldwide Holdings, Inc. New table games and dining options are scheduled to go live on Oct. 1.

The college football season started last weekend, and nearly two dozen games are on the schedule Saturday. Week 1 of the NFL season began Thursday night, when the Houston Texans played the Kansas City Chiefs, and there is a full schedule of 15 games set for Sunday and Monday.
